Sludge & Slurry

We select the most suitable Pumps to undertake Sludge and Slurry Pumping duties. This, together with our Technical expertise and experience, means that we ensure that the right pump is selected for your application.

Grindex Sludge Pumps

This range of pumps are of lightweight construction and benefit from chrome alloyed white cast iron impellers and polyurethane coated pump housings, which combine to give exceptional wear resistance on lighter solids and sludges.

The vortex impellers means that they can handle large diameter solids without clogging and the ability to run dry or with very little flow enables them to be used on small sewage overpumping jobs where access is restricted and the use of float switches impractical.

There are five models available in our extensive hire fleet and for a full sales range, contact your local depot.

Flygt D Range Sludge Pumps

These are heavier duty pumpsets of cast iron construction with vortex impellers. Built to handle difficult applications where large diameter solids are a problem, pumping takes place by the impeller inducing a rapidly rotating vortex.

As a result, most of the solid or abrasive particles never come into contact with the impeller, thereby minimising wear.

Flygt H Range Sludge/Slurry Pumps

These units are manufactured to the highest standard using high chrome impeller and casing.

This channel type impeller has back vanes to reduce the pressure in the seal area to give far greater seal life. This fact, plus the extremely durable wear parts means an extended working life and lower maintenance and running costs.

This range is for the seriously abrasive and aggressive slurries found in quarries, sand pits, tunnelling and mining environments. Solids handling is restricted to 30mm diameter and are therefore ideally suited to soft and fibrous applications.

Two models in our hire fleet, both available with the option of an agitator which helps create a homogenous slurry and is best suited for use where pumped media contains fast settling solids.
